Alpah Hydroxy Acids

Alpha Hydroxy Acids treatments have the ability to create a clearer complexion. Free from acne scars, fine wrinkles or dull looking skin. Whether glycolic, lactic or arginine is used-they are all still acids! AHAs dissolve the natural moisturizing factor that acts as a glue to hold dead cells in the stratum corneum together. Acids penetrate into the skin if not properly neutralized and a mixture of baking soda and cool water should always be used on the skin by your esthetician or dermatologist. They should use it as a first rinse mixture to make sure that the process of exfoliation on your skin has stopped. At this point the treatment has reduced the thickness of the stratum corneum and the skin has now become sensitive. Clients should be informed not to experiment themselves with their skin when going home, they are not trained estheticians or dermatologists and they can do some harm. When using such treatments (glycolic or lactic, etc.)in a series, especially for hyperpigmentation, acne scarring and anti-aging programs the results are positive.
